Meet Our Therapists

  • Think of your brain as a messy drawer; stress, conflict, and trauma disorganize our brain. Memories are scrambled and coping skills are hidden. Therapy lets us empty our drawers, put them in order, throw out what we no longer need, and find what we’ve been searching for.

Over my 14 years in practice, I’ve been lucky enough to witness the profound changes that come from ‘doing the work’ in therapy. My goal is to provide you with relief from your current symptoms, as well as the opportunity to explore past experiences and allow for long-term healing.

Having been diagnosed with anxiety in childhood, I know the challenges a mental health diagnosis presents and how frustrating the process of treatment can be. As a wife and working mom to two children, I also know the extra pressures that it can place on an already full life.

I specialize in working with individuals struggling with:

Anxiety, Depression, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Self-Harm, PTSD & Complex Trauma, Life Transitions, Substance Use, ADHD Symptoms, Attachment Issues, Communication Skills, Family Conflict, Relationship Issues

I am skilled in a core group of treatments which includes, but is not limited to:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Insight-Oriented Talk Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)

  • Being honest and vulnerable with someone you’ve just met can be scary and overwhelming. My sessions offer a safe, comfortable, and open experience where I am committed to understanding your goals and supporting you on your path to wellness and wholeness.

My understanding of the importance of receiving support began with my own personal experiences caring for family members. These experiences highlighted the importance of listening, the value of empathy, and the need to be treated with dignity and respect. I will remind you that you are not broken, give you room to access your own wisdom, support you in identifying how you feel, and plan next steps.

I bring 17 years of experience with individuals and families facing mental health challenges, managing trauma, conflict in relationships, and difficulty in communication.

Within sessions, I use tools from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS), and Trauma Focused-CBT (TF-CBT).

Above all, I will work with you to develop goals and create a plan to achieve them.

What to expect from counselling with Sarah:

Confidential, warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment, a collaborative relationship where I empower and support you in finding your own solutions, ultimately developing a plan to learn new skills and strategies to cope, tailored and supportive approach to your individual needs.

  • Seeking therapy and finding a therapist is a huge step to starting your healing journey. My sessions offer a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to share their stories. I am passionate about helping my clients achieve their goals and live their best lives. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I work closely with my clients to develop treatment plans that are designed to help them achieve lasting positive change.

I follow an eclectic approach to therapy that combines different therapeutic techniques and approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual client. Rather than using a single approach or technique, I draw from a range of theories and techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, talk therapy, client-centered therapy, psychoeducation, mindfulness etc to create a customized treatment plan that is tailored to the specific needs and goals of my clients.

I also cater to South Asian clients and understand the importance of cultural sensitivity and awareness in therapy. I am well-versed in the cultural nuances and values of the South Asian community, and tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the needs of my clients from this community. I believe that language can be a barrier to accessing mental health care, and I am committed to making therapy accessible to individuals who speak English, Hindi and Marathi.
